Chelsea winger Willian has described Jose Mourinho as the best manager he has ever worked with, as speculation about his future persists.
The Chelsea star has been linked with a move to Manchester United in virtually every transfer window since Mourinho took over at Old Trafford in 2016 with the pair having formed a good working relationship during their time at Stamford Bridge.
Having won the Premier League title in 2014/15, Mourinho faced a dressing room revolt in the following campaign, with the Brazilian seemingly being the only player to keep on giving his all.
Now, speaking in an interview with ESPN, Willian said has described the current United boss as the best:
“Mourinho is the best manager I’ve ever worked with. We have a good relationship, we are friends.
“Sometimes we talk, we text, we send messages to each other via WhatsApp. He is a great manager, I really enjoyed working with him. I hope I can work with him again someday.”
While United have been heavily linked, Willian has said that he is not aware of any bids from United this summer:
“I don’t know if there was any official bid [from Manchester United], but some things have happened.
“Also, everything comes out on the internet, too. But Mourinho talks to my agent all the time, he says ‘bring him, bring him.”
Asked whether Mourinho has called him directly, Willian added: “No, he has never called me, but he always sends me text messages.
“But I am very happy at Chelsea, I want to stay in the club. I also like living in London, it is an amazing city, and my family is well adapted. So yeah, I intend to stay at Chelsea.”
