Who next after Arsenal’s major deals

After a brilliant season in 2022/23, Arsenal will be a top destination for top players, and with Champions league football back at the Emirates, it is expected that Arsenal will be in apposition to attract top talent. The Gunners have the financial muscle and the ambition is clear following their impressive run in the Premier League title chase last season. The London club is already making key moves in the transfer market, a signal of the ambition and now it seems just a question of who Mikel Arteta and Edu want at the team. A deal has already been sealed for German international Kai Havertz while it is expected two more deals will be announced in the next few days. The biggest of them all, which seems to have been dragging for a while, is that of Declan Rice. There are also reports of Dutch international Jurrien Timber’s imminent arrival. These two could be announced in the course of the week. They then leave the big. Question; who comes next?

Big spenders

Arsenal are set to become officially one of the big spenders in transfers when they complete the proposed £105m move for England international Declan Rice. That coming hot on the heels of a £65m move for Kai Havertz points to the Gunners’ ambitions. However, even with Timber’s imminent arrival, there will be a feeling the Gunners will still be short of the needed quality to do well in Europe. It will be a much more demanding season as they return to the Champions League but it is sustaining their momentum in the Premier League that remains a top priority after narrowly missing out on the title. The Wincomparator’s ultimate betting tips and predictions should place Arsenal high, based on last season’s performances. However, it is how much the Gunners beef up that will determine their valuation. It is not a secret that a lack of depth has been the biggest impediment for Arsenal and that is the area to address.

Strongly linked

Apart from the trio mentioned, Arsenal have been strongly linked with two right-backs; Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo and interesting Spanish youngster Ivan Fresneda. Such is a clear attempt to cover for the fragile Takehiro Tomiyasu, and makeshift fullback Ben White who did well in the position last season. With Granit Xhaka a confirmed departure, Arsenal could go into the market for another midfielder and Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jesper Lindstrom has been rumored as a key target. A target for Liverpool too, Lindstrom’s versatility in midfield is a top attribute for Arteta. Celta Vigo youngster Gabi Veiga is also a player said to be on Arteta’s radar. His goal scoring attributes landed him a high placing among midfielders in Europe, making him a target for the ambitious Arteta, who has lately been interested in young players. His creativity can supplement Martin Odegaard’s and a £35m price on his head should be within Arsenal’s reach. Further, he is said to prefer a move to Arsenal, with Liverpool also rumored to be in his chase.
