West Ham United striker Ashley Fletcher is on the brink of a move to Middlesbrough after the club’s agreed a £7 million fee.
The Manchester United Academy graduate will drop down to the championship after failing to make an impression during his one and only season in the Premier league.
He only moved to the London Stadium last summer on a free transfer after impressing on loan at then League 1 club Barnsley. He scored nine goals in 27 games for the Tykes, helping them to a double Wembley triumph, winning the Johnstones Paint Trophy as well as the League 1 play-off final.
However, since his move to West Ham, he only made 20 appearances, scoring just one goal.
Middlesbrough have now confirmed that they have agreed a deal worth around £7 million for the striker who has now left West Ham’s training camp to finalise the deal.
