West Ham United’s search for a new striker goes on, and according to reports in Italy, they have stepped up their efforts to sign Juventus striker Simone Zaza.

The new tenants of London’s Olympic Stadium have been desperately looking to sign a striker this summer, so far failing in all their attempts. Michy Batshuayi, Gonzalo Higuain, Robin van Persie and Carlos Bacca have all been linked to the hammers this summer, but so far all their attempts have come up short.

However as Juventus close in on signing Gonzalo Higuain from Napoli, West Ham will look to make a move for Juventus striker Simone Zaza. The player is believed to be weighing up his future at the club, despite Wolfsburg already having a €25million bid for the player rebuffed by the Serie A champions.

The Italian would prefer to stay in his native Italy, but has accepted that he may need to move away to gain the regular football that he craves.
