West Ham United have confirmed that they have sacked Manager Slaven Bilic.

The Hammers have had a disappointing start to the season, with the weekends 4-1 defeat at home combined with results elsewhere, leaving them in the bottom three.

Bilic took over in 2015, and had an impressive first season at the Boleyn Ground, before having the thankless task of helping the club bridge the gap to their move the London Stadium. In his 111 games in charge, he managed a win percentage of just 37.8%, the worst of his managerial career.

Club statement

“West Ham United can confirm that Slaven Bilic has today left his position with the Club.

“The Chairmen and board of West Ham United would like to place on record their thanks and gratitude to Slaven and his team for their services over the past two-and-a-half years, but believe a change is now necessary in order for the Club to move forward positively and in line with their ambition.

“West Ham United can confirm that Bilic’s coaching assistants Nikola Jurcevic, Edin Terzic, Julian Dicks and Miljenko Rak have also left the Club with immediate effect.

“The Club’s search for a new manager to take West Ham United forward is underway and an announcement regarding Bilic’s successor is expected to be made over the coming days.”

Replacement

Former Everton, Manchester United and Sunderland Manager David Moyes has reportedly been contacted by the Hammers over the weekend, and is expected to be installed as the new West Ham Manager later this week. He has been out of work since the summer since guiding Sunderland to a miserable relegation from the Premier League last season. West Ham fans will be hoping for more this season.

West Ham fans, what is your reaction to Bilic’s sacking? What do you think to David Moyes potentially taking over?
