West Ham boss Pellegrini lauds Snodgrass desire and professionalism

Manuel Pellegrini has praised Robert Snodgrass after the Scotland winger’s return to the West Ham first-team this season.

Snodgrass signed for West Ham from Hull City in January 2017, but after falling out-of-favour was loaned to Championship side Aston Villa for the 2017/18 season, helping them to reach the play-off final.

With Pellegrini replacing David Moyes as manager at The London Stadium this summer, the 31-year-old was handed a lifeline at the club by the Chilean and has impressed since returning to the fold.

“There were very few words that I spoke with him at the beginning of the season. I gave him some demands about his weight, about his work.’’ Pellegrini told the press ahead of his sides clash against Cardiff tonight.

“I always found him a good player, just will depend on what he wants, if he had a spot here for the season.

“He’s a very professional player. He’s doing it very well because he had desire to be here.”
