West Ham are interested in signing Man Utd defender Chris Smalling.
According to the Daily Star, West Ham are readying a £10million move for the England centre-back, who is believed to not be part of Jose Mourinho’s plans for next season.
Manchester United have completed the £31million signing of Victor Lindelof from Benfica, who alongside last summers signing Eric Bailly, is expected to be the Red Devil’s first choice defensive partnership next season.
Mourinho publicly slated Smalling on a number of occasions last season, questioning the defenders commitment to the team and his desire to play through the pain barrier.
The Portuguese has decided to allow the former Fulham defender to leave and will sell to the highest bidder.
West Ham are believed to be preparing a £10m, with United valueing the 27-year-old at £15m.
Everton and West Brom are also thought to be interested.
