West Ham boss Pellegrini hoping to see improvement against Spurs

West Ham manager, Manuel Pellegrini, is hopeful that his side will bounce back with a better performance against Spurs after losing at Brighton in their last fixture.

Pellegrini spoke to the media yesterday, ahead of the visit of Pochettino’s Spurs side to the London Stadium at 3pm on Saturday.

“There’s always an opportunity if you play well and you win. We know it’s important to try and recover points as quickly as we can.’’ He told his pre-match press conference.

“We have played eight games and perhaps we don’t have the points we wanted or deserved. Now we have a chance to add more.”

Before the Brighton defeat, The Hammers had won 4 of their previous 6 games in all competitions and were showing plenty of signs of improvement after a difficult start to there season. They had taken 4 points from meetings with Chelsea and Manchester United and destroyed poor Macclesfield Town, 8-0, in the Carabao Cup.

“Tottenham are a good team with a lot of young players. Pochettino has done a very good job and they are one of the division’s top teams.

“I think we were very unlucky not to take something from Brighton, but if you don’t score the chances you have you normally lose the game. We hope to improve that this weekend.”

Hammers’ fans will be hoping they can take more points off another team from the Premier League ‘big six’, on Saturday.
