Arsene Wenger reckons that Aaron Ramsey’s summer move to Juventus will prove to be a big loss to Arsenal.
Juventus announced last week that Ramsey has signed a pre-contract agreement which will see him join the Serie A side in the summer, with the Welshman set to earn a reported £400,000-a-week during his time in Turin.
The move comes after Arsenal rescinded their offer of a new contract earlier this season, as Unai Emery continues to rebuild his side.
However, his predecessor, Arsene Wenger, reckons that the 28-year-old will be hard to replace.
“It will be a loss for Arsenal. I must say it will be an interesting move for Ramsey,” Wenger said at the Laureus Sport for Good presentation.
“He is a player who is great going forward. His main quality is he can keep the final ball and he makes interesting runs from deep.
“You don’t find many players today who can make midfield runs off the ball. It will be an interesting addition for Juventus.”
Wenger signed Ramsey from Cardiff City back in 2008, and despite his future being away from the club, he has still played plenty of football for the Gunners this season, featuring in 24 of their 26 Premier League matches, scoring two goals and providing six assists.
