Arsene Wenger has insisted that Alexis Sanchez will not be sold this summer regardless of who makes an offer.
Sanchez has been linked with with a number of clubs this summer, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Bayern Munich, and most recently, Paris Saint-Germain.
Sanchez has just one year remaining on his contract at the Emirates, meaning that the Gunners could lose him for nothing next summer.
However this is something that does not bother the Arsenal manager, who is determined to keep hold of his prize asset beyond this summer’s transfer window. Wenger said:
โMy mind has been made up for a while now. I think Iโve made it clear a few times that this is my stance [he will stay at Arsenal].
โSanchez has got one year to go on his contract and we have no need to make money. He will be part of the team next year and after that I can understand it.
โWe are in a strong financial situation so we want to keep our best players. Has he asked to leave? No.โ
Wenger believes that the player has been tapped up by the Ligue 1 club PSG who have reportedly offered him ยฃ500,000-a-week.
Is Arsene Wenger true to his word? Can Arsenal keep Sanchez? Will Sanchez force a move? Leave us your thoughts.ย
