With less than one week remaining in the transfer window, Arsene Wenger has offered his thoughts on the potential signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in recent weeks, with speculation suggesting that the Gunners have increased their £44m offer for the striker to around £50m.
However, reports on Wednesday evening surfaced suggesting Borussia Dortmund have indeed rejected this improved offer, having thought to have previously asked for €60m (£53m)
Now, speaking after Arsenal’s 2-1 Carabao Cup Seri final aggregate win over Chelsea, Arsene Wenger has suggested he is calm regarding the situation surrounding the strikers’ future. Wenger said:
“The best is I don’t talk about that.
“If something happens, it happens.
“If not I’m perfectly happy with the squad I have.”
Arsenal have already brought in Aubameyang’s former Dortmund teammate, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but has to see Alexis Sanchez move in the opposite direction.
