Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed that star duo Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey should be fit to face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley on Sunday.
The Gunners had a far from ideal build up to this weekend’s game, as they slipped to an embarrassing 2-1 home loss to Swedish minnows Ostersunds on Thursday night. Ozil missed that game through injury, although his manager confirmed he should be fit for Sunday’s showdown with Pep Guardiola’s side.
Attacking midfielder Aaron Ramsey has been struggling with a groin injury in recent weeks, but Wenger revealed he is still hopeful he will be declared fit.
‘I have to make a decision on Aaron Ramsey on Saturday and he hopes to be available but he has another [fitness] test today.’ The 68-year-old said.
Arsenal have an amazing record of having won their last nine games at Wembley, although they will have to be at their very best to beat Pep Guardiola’s brilliant Man City side on Sunday.
