Sam Allardyce was in jovial mood as his side continued their unbeaten run under his stewardship with a 0-0 draw against Chelsea.
The Everton boss admitted that his side had to scrap for the point after spending the majority of the game on the back foot.
Chelsea had plenty of chances during the game, but couldn’t find a way past the Everton defence, and Allardyce praised Phil Jagielka for his goal line clearance, saying it highlighted the teams work rate and despite.
He also described exactly how his team have taken all of his methods on board since his arrival, that have seen his side now closer to Liverpool in fourth than Bournemouth in the drop zone.
While not whinging about the festive fixture list Allardyce, was rueful that his side have four games in 13 days, especially considering the injury to Idrissa Gueye which while not a major injury, will likely see him miss all four games.
