Liverpool ran out as comfortable winners against Brighton and Hove Albion, beating the promoted side 5-1 and as you would imagine, Jurgen Klopp was in fine form for his post match press conference.
Goals from Emre Can, a double from Roberto Firmino, a Coutinho wonder strike and an own goal from Lewis Dunk secured the win for the Merseyside club.
Despite making six changes to the starting line-up Liverpool looked very strong and Klopp was very happy with how they performed.
The away side didn’t have it all their own way however, and the Liverpool coach was quick to praise his ‘keeper, Simon Mignolet, who pulled off a smart save to deny Glenn Murray when the score was 2-0. “It was like scoring a goal” the German said.
Murray did get on the scoresheet when he slotted home a dubiously awarded penalty but ultimately Liverpool simply had too much for Brighton.
