Manchester United manager has been speaking to the press today ahead of Sunday’s Premier League fixture against Newcastle at St.James Park.
The Portuguese coach has never won a game away to the Geordies, and he expects a another tough game this weekend.
Mourinho also admitted he enjoys his trips up North, especially as it is the home of one of his earliest mentors Sir Bobby Robson.
The former Chelsea coach also confirmed how happy is with the increased effort of Luke Shaw and that the left-back is in line to earn a new contract at the club.
Paul Pogba was also praised for his professional attitude after being dropped for the game against Huddersfield last week. The France international has come in for some heavy criticism lately, after his lack of tactical discipline cost his team during their recent 2-0 defeat to Spurs at Wembley.
In terms of the debate about what is United’s record signings best position, Mourinho also admitted that he has been confused by a lot of that talk surrounding the 24-year-old and simply stated that he sees him a midfielder with amazing potential.
