Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola confirmed today that influential midfielder David Silva will be fit to play in the Manchester Derby this weekend.
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach spoke of how he wants his team to stick to their principles and play good football, just as they have done all season, no matter what the result at Old Trafford.
Guardiola also confirmed his belief that win, lose or draw on Sunday, the Premier League title will be far from decided, as it is a marathon and not a sprint.
When asked if he is as obsessed with winning trophies as his United counterpart the 46-year-old stated, that in this regard him and Mourinho are so alike they are almost twins.
City go into the game knowing a win against their arch-rivals will give them an 11 point lead at the top of the table, and also see them match Arsenal’s record 14 game consecutive winning streak in the Premier League.
