Footballer’s are renowned for being a superstitious bunch. During a brilliant discussion with some of the Premier League’s greatest ever players Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, and Rio Ferdinand, BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey quizzed the former pro’s on their own pre-match rituals.
Liverpool legend Gerrard revealed that although he was not very superstitious he did always carry out a very specific pre-match routine and also discussed the antics that his former team-mates Paul Ince and Pepe Reina would get up to before kick off.
Chelsea great Lampard admits to the bizarre reason why he always had to use a specific urinal before he headed out on to the pitch, and the stress he put himself under when deciding which boots to wear.
Former Man United centre-back Ferdinand reveals how he had to jump and walk onto the pitch in a certain way or else it would effect how he performed.
While the three former England internationals also reminisce about their former team-mate Joe Cole’s insistence on never touching the ball in the dressing room and the lenghts he would go to to avoid it.
