Arsene Wenger’s incredible 22 year reign at Arsenal is almost over, and now the legendary Gunners boss has had his chance to say his final farewell to fans at the Emirates.
The Reds ran out comfortable 5-0 winners against Burnley in what was Wenger’s final game at the Emirates, before fans were able to say their final goodbye in an emotional afternoon in North London.
Arsenal presented the Frenchman with the golden Premier League trophy that they were awarded back in 2004 for their incredible ‘invincibles’ season, afterwhich, he delivered an emotional speech to the Gunners Faithful.
He started by paying a tribute to his old foe Sir Alex Ferguson, who is currently in intensive care after suffering a brain haemorrhage over the weekend.
After declaring himself as ‘an Arsenal fan’ and saying that being an Arsenal fan is ‘a way of life’, he went to thank the his players and staff who make the club ‘special’, urging the Arsenal fans to continue supporting them next season and into the future.
He finished by saying to the Arsenal fans “I will miss you.”
