Neil Warnock tells it as it is ahead of Saturday’s clash between Cardiff City and Liverpool, claiming it’s not possible to come away fro Anfield with all three points.
The Cardiff manager instigated the mind games this week by putting the onus firmly on the home side to come out and break down his Cardiff team.
“It’s massive. It’s virtually impossible for any team in the current game,” Warnock said at his pre-match press conference.
The wily old manager was particularly complimentary towards Liverpool’s attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, and Sadio Mane. All three scored in the Champions League win over FK Crvena Zvezda during the week, but Warnock is hoping that is not the case come Saturday.
“I think the front three is probably the best in the world.
“We’ve all got to play at the top of our potential to give them a good game and hope they have an off day.”
Warnock is almost-certainly looking at a long, tough relegation battle in the months ahead. However, he knows that if he can set his team up in the right way and get them to apply themselves well from set-pieces, then Cardiff could just nick something from their trip to Merseyside.
