Ruud van Nistelrooy has reportedly told Manchester United to sign Juventus forward Dusan Vlahovic.
Van Nistelrooy returned to Manchester United during the summer to join up with Erik ten Hag’s coaching team at Old Trafford.
The Dutchman spent five seasons with the Red Devils as a player and scored 150 goals in 219 appearances for the club, with the 48-year-old now tasked with giving counsel to the club’s forward line.
Manchester United signed Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna in a £34m deal during the summer, a year after spending £72m on Rasmus Hojlund.
Given the inexperience of that duo, however, Football Transfers are reporting that Van Nistelrooy has recommended United sign a more established option.

Dusan Vlahovic has been put forward as a potential signing to the club, with the Serbian striker regarded as one of the best number nines in Serie A.
The 24-year-old finished as runner-up to Lautaro Martinez for the Capocannoniere award as the league’s leading scorer last season and was named Serie A’s Best Striker.
United are reportedly prepared to scout Vlahovic before determining whether a move in the January transfer window is possible. Vlahovic signed for Juventus from Fiorentina for a fee of €70m in January 2022 and has scored 43 goals in 106 appearances for the Turin outfit.
