Southampton centre back Virgil van Dijk has insisted he is fully committed to the club, but has refused to rule out a move away in the future.Van Dijk’s future was one of the stories of the summer, with some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs interested in his signature. Those clubs include Chelsea, Manchester City, Arsenal, and mostly, Liverpool.
Liverpool were linked throughout the summer, forcing Southampton to report the Reds for making an illegal approach for the Dutchman. Van Dijk, who was exluded from The Saints preseason preparations, handed in a transfer request but was ultimateky unable to force his ‘dream’ move.
However, speaking to the Daily Echo, Van Dijk has claimed he is 100% focussed on his job at the South Coast club, but refused to rule out a future transfer.
“Firstly, I don’t think it’s appropriate to comment on anything that happened before.
“But I am giving 100 percent for the club. I work hard every day, I help my team-mates, I’m positive and I want to win every game.
“I am happy and that’s the most important thing so we will just see what happens.”
