United legend backs Liverpool for Champions League glory

Liverpool cruised through to the quarter final stage after a 0-0 draw against Porto at Anfield last night which saw them progress 5-0 on aggregate.

Jurgen Klopp’s men seem to have improved defensively since the signing of £75 million defender Virgil Van Dijk, and with their deadly front three of Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Saido Mane in such blistering form the Red’s look in good shape as we enter the business end of the season.

The Anfield outfit have even received some praise from an unexpected source with Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand backing them to make a major impact in this seasons Champions League.

“I think they have got the potential to [go the whole way]. You wouldn’t want to play Liverpool.

“It doesn’t matter who you are in this tournament now that front three, when they are on fire, that intensity, going to Anfield – a difficult place to go – the pace they have got in that team, they are going to be a hard proposition for any team in this tournament.” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

Liverpool fans will be looking forward to the quarter final draw on March 16th, and in their current form they will fancy their chances against anybody.
