It’s official, Mauricio Pochettino’s reign at Tottenham has come to an end.
Following their disappointing start to the season, Spurs released a statement tonight to confirm Pochettino had been removed from his post, less than six months after the Argentine had guided the club to a first-ever Champions League final.
It’s another demonstration of the cut-throat world that is Premier League management, the news shocking football fans and in typical style sending social media into a frenzy.
Here are the best Twitter reactions to Pochettino’s sacking:
It’s fair to say the news has come as a shock to many…

One of the good guys and a damn good manager too.
This game never ceases to amaze me #Pochettino— Darren Fletcher (@DFletcherSport) November 19, 2019
Difficult to understand Mauricio Pochettino sacking! Always had hands tied, yet took Spurs on an incredible rollercoaster all the way to UCL Final. Recent results don’t lie, but players need to own up too. Felt Poch needed a new challenge, but at season end. Timing is mad! #THFC
