Trevoh Chalobah is expected to leave Chelsea during the January transfer window with the race to sign the defender described as ‘open’.
Chalobah failed to secure a move away from the Blues during the summer despite interest from several sides, with the 24-year-old having since failed to play a single minute under Mauricio Pochettino after being informed he does not feature in the new manager’s plans.
Nottingham Forest had an offer in the region of £25m accepted for Chalobah on transfer deadline day, but the defender turned down a move to the City Ground amid interest from Bayern Munich.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Bayern remain interested in a deal to sign the versatile defender, with former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel keen to bring Chalobah to the Bundesliga.
However, there are ‘other clubs’ interested in what has been described as an ‘open race’ to sign Chalobah, who wants to leave Chelsea in the winter window to secure regular first-team football.
Chalobah has made 63 appearances in all competitions for the west Londoners since progressing from the academy set-up at Stamford Bridge.
