Brighton keen on Colombian winger

To paraphrase the old adage: Brighton signings are like buses, you wait ages for one and then two arrive at once. Well, almost at once.

Earlier this week the Albion destroyed their transfer record with the £10m-ish signing of midfielder Davy Propper from PSV.

Now, mere days later, they look set to do it all over again as news of the £13.5m allegedly being spent on Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo filters through Twitter.

Andy Naylor, Chief Sports Journalist at The Argus, rarely comments on rumours unless they have some legs and earlier today he took to Twitter saying “work still to be done. Cautious about work permit aspect.”

If the deal comes to pass it will mark Brighton’s fifth permanent deal and sixth deal overall following the arrivals of Mathew Ryan, Markus Suttner, Pascal Groß, Davy Propper and Chelsea loanee Izzy Brown.

News has also surfaced of interest in Ghanian international Raphael Dwamena who could join from Swiss Super League side FC Zurich. Dwamena has scored 14 goals in 18 starts for Zurich so far helping them gain promotion back to the top flight. He could very well be the answer to the problem of firepower up front for the Seagulls.
