Tottenham are interested in signing Borussia Dortmund defender Mathias Ginter according to reports today.

With Mauricio Pochettino looking to strengthen his defence, the Independent claim that he has turned his attention towards Ginter.

The 23-year-old is a World Cup winner with Germany and is apparently open to an exit from the Bundesliga club.

He made 97 appearances for Borussia Dortmund in his three years at the club and is set for talks with new coach Peter Bosz, who recently took over at Signal Idunda Park after guiding Ajax to the Europa League final in his first season in charge.

Pochettino meanwhile is facing the prospect of a defensive exodus from Tottenham this summer. Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Toby Alderweireld have all been linked with moves away from the North London club this summer.
