Tottenham Hotspur and Atletico Madrid could be about to go head to head this summer over the signing of one of the Bundesliga’s top talents.
Reports in Spanish newspaper AS claim that Diego Simeone’s side will make a €20million move for Bayer Leverkusen attacking midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu this summer.
Meanwhile reports in German newspaper Bild claim that Tottenham Hotspur will also tracking the 22-year old and could firm up their interest before the end of the transfer window.
The article claims that Calhanoglu would be allowed to leave the club if he puts in a transfer request and Tottenham stump up the €25million asking price.
The Turkish international joined Leverkusen back in 2014 from Hamburg and has helped lead his new club to back to back Champions League qualification after scoring 21 goals in all competitions.
