Tottenham Hotspur’s summer plans have been dealt a huge blow by one of its current stars’ contract demands.

Danish playmaker Christian Erikson is currently earning £32,000-a-week, a relatively low amount for the modern Premier League star, but has shocked club officials by demanding a 500% increase on his current deal.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is keen on tying the Dane down to a new long term deal and was willing to give him parity with the clubs top earner Hugo Lloris.

However the 24-year old stunned the chairman when his wage demands were almost twice the amount of the French goalkeeper.

Juventus are interested in signing the playmaker and would be willing to vastly increase his current terms, whilst Inter Milan are keen to reunite Erikson with Frank de Boer who he worked with at Ajax before his move to the Premier League.
