Tottenham Hotspur are lining up a January move for Barcelona midfielder Andre Gomes.
The Portuguese midfielder has struggled to make an impact at the Nou Camp since his big money move from Valencia just 15 months ago. He made 47 appearances for the Catalan giants last season, scoring just three goals, and attracting much animosity from the club’s fans.
Spurs, West Ham and Manchester United were rumoured to be interested throughout the summer, but the 24-year-old wanted to stay at the club and fight for his place.
However, he has failed to impress new Barca boss Ernesto Valverde this season, leaving the midfielder resigned to the thought of leaving the club to try to rebuild his career.
According to The Sun, Spurs are set to rekindle their interest in once the January transfer window opens, with a potential £20m transfer fee being rumoured – £25m less than he was bought for a little over a year ago.
Barcelona are thought to be willing to cash in on Gomes as they look to bolster their transfer funds. They are looking to sign Philippe Coutinho in a deal which could reach £120m.
