Tottenham Hotspur have opened talks with AZ Alkmaar striker Vincent Janssen as they edge closer to completing a £12million move for the Netherlands striker.
Janssen finished the season as the top scorer in the Eredivisie, attracting the attention of a number of clubs around Europe.
The striker has opened talks with senior Spurs officials after Mauricio Pochettino watched the striker in action last week. Despite the personal contact with the player, the two clubs are yet to discuss the terms of any potential transfer.
Janssen played and scored in his countries 2-0 victory against Austria in Vienna, as well as on his International debut against England at Wembley. The 21-year old also scored 27 goals in 34 appearances for Alkmaar, leading the club to a fourth placed finish.
Arsenal had also been linked with making a move for Janssen, who Alkmaar value at around £12million.
