Tottenham finally ready to start spending as they are linked to striker and midfielder.

Tottenham are plotting a move for Genoa striker Giovanni Simeone, the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone.

The 22-year-old currently plays for Serie A club, Genoa, and is attracting attention from a number of Premier League and Serie A club’s.

Tottenham as well as Crystal Palace are being linked with a making a potential move for the striker, who scored 12 goals last season. Torino and Fiorentina are also interested.

The Mirror also claims that Mauricio Pochettino has rekindled his interest in Schalke attacking midfielder, Max Meyer. The Spurs boss was interested in signing the 21-year-old last summer, but were unable to complete a deal, a deal which would have been worth around £30m.

However, Meyer is now entering the final 12 months of his contract with the Bundesliga club and has indicated he is not going to sign an improved deal. This could mean that Spurs could seal a relatively cut-price deal to sign the German.

Spurs are one of the only clubs in the Premier League yet to make a single signing in this summer’s transfer window, despite the season ending almost three months ago.

Tottenham start their Premier League campaign in nine days time, when they play last season’s Championship winners, Newcastle United at St James’ Park.
