Tottenham eye up Real Madrid star

Tottenham Hotspur are looking to capitalise on Real Madrids need to cut the numbers in the squad down by making a move for one of their star players.

Real Madrid currently have 30 players in their first team squad and need to cut some numbers, leaving Spurs contemplating making a move for Spain international Isco.

The European champions have a number of players who can play in the number 10 position including Marco Asensio who looks to have overtaken Isco and James Rodriguez in the pecking order for Zinedine Zidanes club.

However, with Columbian international James Rodriguez being a favourite of club president Florentino Perez, it looks like Isco could be surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu.

Isco moved to Real Madrid in a £25million move from Malaga and has generally impressed when given his opportunity and could now be given a chance to continue his career by Tottenham in the Premier League.

He would fit comfortably into Mauricio Pochettino’s style of play, being comfortable on the ball, but there are just over 100hours of the transfer window remaining, meaning the Argentine cannot afford to ponder his options for too long.
