Tosin open to exploring Chelsea exit as Premier League sides enter race

Tosin Adarabioyo is open to exploring a move away from Chelsea.

Tosin Adarabioyo is open to exploring a move away from Chelsea after enquiries from Benfica and Premier League clubs.

The 28-year-old started only eight games in the Premier League last season and the arrival of Maxence Lacroix, alongside Levi Colwill’s return from a long-term injury, has increased competition for a place in the side.

As a result, the defender is now considering his future with the BBC reporting that there has been significant interest.

Portuguese side Benfica have expressed interest in signing Tosin, who worked with Benfica boss Marco Silva at Fulham. Silva is keen on a reunion with the centre-back, following the sale of Antonio Silva to Bournemouth.

However, Benfica face competition from the Premier League with ‘at least one other English club’ having contacted Chelsea to discuss a deal.

Tosin has less than two years to run on the contract he signed when joining from Fulham as a free agent in 2024. His sale would represent pure profit for Chelsea as the club balance the books after spending around £329m on transfers so far this summer.
