Three way Premier League battle to sign the ‘new Pogba’

Three Premier League teams are interested in signing the player who has been dubbed as the ‘new Paul Pogba’.

Every transfer there seems to be a young promising player that is dubbed as ‘the new (insert player of choice)’ and it seems as though this transfer window is no different. The player to have this honour bestowed upon them this time is 18-year-old Boubakary Soumare.

The youngster came through the PSG academy before moving to Lille last year in order to achieve more first team opportunities, making his debut for the Ligue 1 club in November. He has gone on to take make eight appearances in the league, including three starts, although has yet to get his first goal of his professional career.

The box-to-box midfielder’s performances have attracted admirers from the Premier League, with three clubs interested in signing him according to reports.

The reports suggest that Everton and Leicester are interested in signing the midfielder, while Lille are bracing themselves for a bid from league leaders Manchester City, who sent academy chief Brian Marwood to watch the midfielder in action last week.

The youngster, who despite his tender years stands at 6ft 2″, is thought to be valued at around £20m.
