Thomas Lemar sensationally rejects Arsenal move

Thomas Lemar has rejected the chance to move to Arsenal according to reports.

Lemar has been lined with some of Europe’s largest clubs, including Manchester United, Barcelona, Tottenham, Liverpool and Arsenal, with the latter two clubs both making bids for the Frenchman.

Arsenal were the first to club to make an offer for the Monaco star, with the Ligue 1 champions desperate to keep hold of him after losing some key members to the title winning squad.

Arsenal seemed to then pull out of the race, before Liverpool came in with two bids of £66m and £72m in recent days. Those bids were also rejected by the principality club, before they eventually accepted a Deadline Day bid of £92million from Arsenal.

However, Lemar, who is currently playing for France against the Netherlands in their World Cup qualification game, has sensationally rejected the chance to move to the Gunners. It is claimed that Lemar did not want to take the step down into the Europa League, and would have preferred to move to Liverpool.

This rejection will also have serious consequences for Manchester City, who have been told that Alexis Sanchez will now not be allowed to leave Arsenal, despite the club’s tentatively agreeing a deal of an initial £55m with a further £5m in add-ons.
