The youngest Premier League hat-trick scorers for Chelsea

Noni Madueke made his mark for Chelsea at the weekend as the winger scored a second-half hat-trick at Wolves.

Madueke scored three times in a 14-minute burst at Molineux, with the 22-year-old sending a message to new head coach Enzo Maresca. The England u-21 international has struggled for a regular role since signing for Chelsea but has increased his argument for more minutes with a breakout performance.

He has become the sixth-youngest player to score a Premier League hat-trick for the Blues.

6. Noni Madueke – 22 years and 168 days v Wolves (August 2024)

Madueke has been linked with leaving Chelsea this summer after failing to earn a prominent role in the club’s plans. Things appear to have changed after his spectacular showing against Wolves when the winger marked his first Premier League appearance of the campaign with a hat-trick at Molineux.

All three of Madueke’s goals were assisted by Cole Palmer, just the fifth time a player has assisted the same teammate three or more times in the same Premier League game.

5. Nicolas Jackson – 22 years and 139 days v Tottenham (November 2023)

Nicolas Jackson’s debut season with Chelsea was an up-and-down experience, though one of the highs came in a bonkers North London derby at Tottenham. Spurs were reduced to nine men when Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie were sent off inside the opening hour but persisted with an ambitious defensive game plan.

After Spurs held firm for 75 minutes, the Senegalese striker capitalised on their bold/brave/barmy high defensive line to help himself to a late hat-trick.

4. Tammy Abraham – 21 years and 347 days v Wolves (September 2019)

Frank Lampard’s first reign as Chelsea manager saw the club great place his faith in youth amid a transfer ban. One of the beneficiaries of the ban was Tammy Abraham, who broke into the team alongside Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori in 2019/20.

Abraham ended the season with 15 league goals, including a hat-trick in a 5-2 win at Wolves that also saw Tomori and Mount on target. He also scored an own goal in an eventful win at Molineux.

3. Cole Palmer – 21 years and 345 days v Everton (April 2024)

Cole Palmer produced a spectacular first season at Chelsea as the forward lit up the Premier League.

Few expected such an impact in Palmer’s first full season in the top flight, but the summer recruit from Manchester City exploded in output. He scored 22 goals and laid on 11 assists to earn the PFA Young Player of the Year award, leading the division for goal involvements.

A virtuoso performance put Everton to the sword in April 2024, as Palmer scored four times en route to a 6-0 win for the West Londoners.

2. Cole Palmer – 21 years and 334 days v Manchester United (April 2024)

Just nine days earlier, Palmer had scored his first-ever Premier League hat-trick.

A pulsating contest with Manchester United saw Chelsea snatch a late win, with Palmer scoring twice deep into stoppage-time to complete his hat-trick and turn defeat into victory.

An end-to-end game saw Manchester United lead 3-2 with 99 minutes and 17 seconds on the clock, before Palmer converted from the penalty spot to level.

Just seconds later, the visitors switched off at a set-piece and Palmer drilled in a low deflected effort to seal a dramatic win. It was a fine moment for the Mancunian.

1. Christian Pulisic – 21 years and 38 days v Burnley (October 2019)

Christian Pulisic holds the record as Chelsea’s youngest-ever hat-trick scorer in the Premier League.

The USA international netted three times in a 4-2 win at Burnley in October 2019, doing so in perfect fashion with a left foot, right foot and headed effort.

Pulisic showed real promise in periods of his Chelsea career but was unable to fulfil his early potential. He left to join AC Milan in an £18.5m deal in 2023 and was named in the Serie A Team of the Season during his debut campaign.
