John Terry likens ‘tremendous talent’ Jack Grealish to two former Chelsea stars

John Terry has described Jack Grealish as a ‘tremendous talent’ and has likened the Aston Villa captain to former Chelsea teammates, Joe Cole and Eden Hazard.

Grealish has starred for Aston Villa this season despite their struggles since promotion to the Premier League, the midfielder’s performances having seen the 24-year-old strongly linked with a summer move to Manchester United.

Despite currently sitting in the relegation zone, the playmaker has netted nine goals and provided a further eight assists in all competitions for Dean Smith’s side so far this season and Terry – currently working as assistant manager at Villa Park – has drawn comparisons between Grealish and former Chelsea stars Cole and Hazard.

“I think he’s similar to Joe Cole and Eden Hazard,” Terry said of Grealish during a Q&A session on Villa’s official website.

“I just think the natural ability he’s got and that Joe Cole had, a god-given talent that not many people are blessed with but he’s certainly got.

“The way he glides past people – he’s quick, but not many people know it. I don’t think he knows how quick he is.

“He’s a tremendous talent, he gets a lot of fouls in the Championship and now in the Premier League.

“People don’t know how to stop him.”
