Steven Taylor reckons that there is no City quite like Newcastle when it comes to passion for football.
The 32-year-old Geordie born former Newcastle defender has revealed that his hometown is a place obsessed with football and also admitted that the Toon Army are the most demanding fans a player can play in front of.
“I’ve been to some magnificent stadiums in my career, but nothing compares to the North East, Newcastle is a city that eats, drinks and sleeps football.’’ Taylor told TribalFootball.
”If you lose a game, it’s the stuff that could cause divorces. You get drilled at an early age how important it is, especially the derby games. Without a doubt they’re the toughest supporters to play in front of.”
Taylor, who played for Newcastle for 13 years, is currently on the books of Australian A-League side Wellington Phoenix.
