Swansea have bid rejected for Hull City midfielder

According to reports, Swansea City have become the latest club to have a bid rejected for Hull City midfielder Sam Clucas.

With money to spend after Gylfi Sigursson’s departure to Everton, the Swans are looking for a replacement that will strengthen their squad.

They have made a bid of around £12m for Clucas but Hull are reluctant to allow another one of their most important players to leave.

Hull have already seen Ahmed Elmohamady, Tom Huddlestone, Eldin Jakupovic, Harry Maguire and Andy Robertson leave to join teams in the Premier League and the Championship.

Clucas has Premier League experience with Hull City and signed a new three-year contract in August 2016.

Despite the speculation over his future, Clucas has featured in all three of Hull’s opening games in the Championship.

Swansea’s Premier League rivals Burnley have had two bids turned down by Hull, the second believed to be worth up to £10m.
