High-flying Sunderland will travel to the City Ground on Saturday, aiming to continue their impressive start to the Premier League season.

As the best-performing newly-promoted side, the Black Cats currently sit seventh in the table and are unbeaten in their last three matches. Régis Le Bris’s side has demonstrated remarkable character recently.

Most notably, they fought back to secure a 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last weekend despite playing with ten men for over an hour. Consequently, Sunderland will be confident of extending their strong run against a Nottingham Forest team still adapting under a new manager.

Sunderland team news

Régis Le Bris will have to manage several absences for the trip to Nottingham. The team will be without club-record signing Habib Diarra, who is a long-term absentee. In addition, Reinildo Mandava begins a three-match suspension following his recent red card. Arthur Masuaku is therefore the most likely candidate to deputise at left-back.

Despite these setbacks, the manager can rely on in-form striker Wilson Isidor to lead the attack. Isidor has been a crucial player this season, scoring three of the team’s six league goals so far.
