Sunderland travel to London today, looking to continue their dream return to the Premier League.

Régis Le Bris’s side currently sit fourth in the table with 19 points. A win at Craven Cottage would give them their best start after 12 games since the 2005-06 season. The Black Cats have already proven they can handle trips to the capital. In fact, they beat Chelsea 2-1 there in October. However, they have not won back-to-back away games in London in the same season since 2001. Therefore, they will look to exploit Fulham’s recent inconsistencies to cement their place in the top four.

Sunderland team news

Régis Le Bris has received a fitness boost. Specifically, defender Reinildo Mandava has been passed fit to play despite suffering a knock on international duty. However, the manager is still without several squad players. Dennis Cirkin, Romaine Mundle, and Leo Hjelde have played for the Under-21s recently but are not yet ready for Premier League action.

Additionally, Habib Diarra remains out. Consequently, the manager is expected to stick with a settled lineup. This will feature Granit Xhaka in midfield and the versatile defensive setup that has served them well so far.

Sunderland predicted Lineup

Sunderland predicted XI: Roefs; Hume, Mukiele, Ballard, Geertruida, Reinildo; Xhaka, Sadiki; Traore, Isidor, Le Fee
