Luis Suarez has become the latest player to try to lure Paul Pogba to Barcelona amid interest from the Spanish champions.
Pogba was strongly linked with a move to the La Liga giants in the summer amid reports of a breakdown in his relationship with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho.
It is thought that Barcelona made a £45 million bid for the Frenchman which would have seen Andre Gomes and Yerry Mina move in the opposite direction, although that was immediately rejected with the Premier League side who deemed their £89m not for sale.
Despite that stance, rumours regarding Pogba’s future have continued, with Barcelona thought to be ready to launch another move in either January or next summer.
Now, former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has weighed in on the transfer speculation, calling Pogba an elite player and saying that he would be welcomed at the Nou Camp if he ever made a move.
“Pogba’s an elite player who’s won everything,” Suarez told RAC1 on Tuesday.
“He has a lot of quality and he’s one of the references at United.
“I think he would like to be competing for more than he is at the moment. He’s not a player that belongs to Barca, but he would always be welcome.”
