Daniel Sturridge has said that his late equaliser against Chelsea this evening was perhaps the best goal he has ever scored.
The Reds fell behind in the first half thanks to yet another fine goal by Eden Hazard, but were saved by former Chelsea striker Daniel Sturridge in the 89th minute, who fired in an absolute rocket from all of 25 yards to salvage a point.
Speaking after the game, Sturridge said that the goal was maybe his best ever:
“It was a good goal, the boys worked tirelessly throughout the game and we were unlucky not to score in the first half,” he told BT Sport.
“I’d like to think I’ve scored better goals but probably not. This one was a nice goal. It was all about getting the result.
“It’s a team game and I just give my best every minute I get. It’s important to keep pushing forward and have a positive outlook on how things are going.”
The result sees Liverpool slip to second in the table behind champions Manchester City, who beat Brighton earlier today.
