Manchester City defender John Stones has described David Silva as a ‘silky player’ – saying that he would pay to watch the Spaniard.

Having won the Premier League by a record 19 points last season, Man City have picked up where they left off this time out, sitting two points ahead of closest challengers Liverpool after they both have made unbeaten starts to the season along with Chelsea.

Central to that success has been the superb David Silva, who despite being 32, is seemingly going from strength to strength, having scored four goals and provided two assists already this season.

When asked which of his current City teammates that he would pay to watch, former Barnsley and Everton centre-back John Stones showed no hesitation in naming the Blues number 21.

“David Silva. 100%. I’d pay a lot of money to watch him play for the rest of his life,” Stones told the official Man City official website.

“Some of the stuff he does, how he moves with the ball and the appreciation when he takes its first touch, he’s just a silky player.

“If you could watch him in training as well and how he is and his whole demeanour, how he is as a person – it excels him and how much you like him.”
