Stoke City have launched a £20million bid for want away West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino.

The striker has been attempting to leave the Hawthorns for over a year, with Tottenham Hotspur making a number of bids, only for West Brom owner Jeremy Peace to refuse all offers for the former England Under-21 striker.

However, Tottenhams interest in the striker has since waned, leaving Stoke In pole position, and manager Mark Hughes has confirmed they have made their move for the 22-year old.

He’s a player at another club so I don’t really want to comment too much but it’s fair to say we’ve put bids in that, as we stand, haven’t been accepted yet but we’re still hopeful on that one.

The striker rejected a four-year contract offer from West Brom as the club made a last gasp attempt to keep Berahino at the Hawthorns.
