Stoke City are close to completing their first signing of the summer with the addition of Egyptian starlet Ramadan Sobhi.

The 19 year old Al Ahly winger has completed a medical at the club and will finalise a transfer to the Premier League within the coming days in a deal thought to be worth £3.5million.

Speaking after the Potters 3-0 defeat to Championship club Burton Albion yesterday, Stoke manager Mark Hughes said:

We are hoping that (deal) is going to be concluded quite soon.
I met him last night and he seems a very mature young man and we’ve got high hopes for him, so I’m very pleased he’s going to join us and I’m looking forward to working with him.
The Egyptian league isn’t an easy league, so he’s obviously capable of dealing with that aspect and I’m sure he will have an impact with us.

He has scored 17 goals in 71 appearances for Al Ahly, as well as one goal for his country for who he has made six appearances.
