Stoke City are believed to be close to signing Jesé Rodriguez from PSG.
The former Real Madrid winger only moved to the French capital last summer, but struggled to make an impact in his first season.
He made 94 appearances for Los Blanco’s before completing a €25m move to PSG, where he only made 16 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
His opportunities in Paris are set to be even more restricted this following the £198 million signing of Neymar from Barcelona, and he looks to be on the move again.
Stoke City’s move for the winger is somewhat of a coup, after the player had already agreed a deal to move to Serie A side Fiorentina.
However, reports now suggest that he has backtracked on this decision following Stoke’s interest, as he would like to play in the Premier League.
Jesé would not be the first big name signing to arrive at the bet 365 stadium in recent years. Former Barcelona protégés Bojan and Ibrahim Affellay have both arrived in The Potteries after not quite making it at the La Liga giants.
Stokes move for a Jesé will also have implications on Newcastle United’s transfer plans, with Mark Hughes ready to give the green light for Joselu to move to St James Park.
