Danny Rose admits he has ‘had enough’ of football due to racism

Tottenham Hotspur full-back Danny Rose has said that he has ‘had enough’ of football thanks to the racism storm that has gripped the game recently.

There have been a number of high profile racially motivated incidents in recent weeks, with a number of England players finding themselves on the receiving end of disgusting racial abuse during their recent international against Montenegro.

There was further incident at the weekend when Juventus youngster Moise Kean was also abused by Cagliari fans, and Spurs left-back Danny Rose has said that he ‘can’t wait’ for his footballing career to come to an end.

“I’ve had enough [of football],” Rose said.

“When Countries get fined what I probably spend on a night out in London, what do you expect?

“At the minute, how I programme myself is that I just think: ‘I’ve got five or six more years left in football and I just can’t wait to see the back of it.’ Seeing how things are done in the game at the minute … It’s just – whatever, isn’t it? I just want to get out of it.

“That’s how I feel. I feel I’ve got five or six more years left and I just want to enjoy football as much as I can. There is so much politics and whatever in football and I just can’t wait to see the back of it, to be honest.”
