Spurs go for Gotze

Tottenham Hotspur have made a move for Bayern Munich playmaker Mario Gotze according to reports in Germany.

Bild claim that Mauricio Pochettino has joined the race to sign the midfielder, who has slid down the pecking order at the Allianz Arena and is seeking clarification on his future from Carlo Ancelotti.

Liverpool were the early favourites to sign the midfielder, as Jurgen Klopp looked to be reunited with the former Borussia Dortmund player, before reports emerged to suggest that Gotze would be staying in Munich. Liverpool have since splashed out £34million on Sadio Mane.

However, reports now suggest that the 24-year old wants to move on to progress his career and Spurs are interested in taking him to White Hart Lane. They will have to beat his former club Borussia Dortmund, who are also interested in his signature.
