Spain and Croatia are set to meet again in their next UEFA Nations League clash on Tuesday at Stadion Poljud, as Luis de la Fuente’s side aim to keep their winning momentum going.

The world champions are enjoying a remarkable, record-setting spell, having gone 41 matches without defeat across all competitions. In Group A3, they have been perfect so far, collecting all nine points from their opening three fixtures. Their latest run of strong performances features a 3-2 win over England at Wembley, a commanding 4-1 success against Croatia in Seville, and a smooth 3-1 victory over Czechia in their most recent outing.

Spain team news

Spain remain in excellent shape under de la Fuente, but their squad depth is being stretched by some recent withdrawals.

The latest setback involves Paris Saint-Germain forward Ferran Torres, who has left the camp after picking up a left ankle injury. To cover his absence, Real Madrid’s 21-year-old attacker Carlos Espí has received his first senior call-up to bolster the attacking options.

Torres now joins forward Nico Williams and left-back Alejandro Grimaldo on the injury list, with both having exited the squad earlier in the window for fitness reasons. Even with these absences, Spain’s deep talent pool allows for significant rotation after their comfortable 3-1 win versus Czechia.

Fresh and rested first-choice players, including midfielders Mikel Merino, Pau Cubarsí, and Marc Cucurella, are all expected to return to the starting XI as Spain look to sustain their high-tempo intensity.
